The Ethiopians: Engine 54 (Music On Vinyl 180g, Colored Vinyl) Vinyl LP

DEBUT ALBUM FROM SKA GIANTS.Ā  Music On Vinyl dives deep (as per usual) to release the debut album from rocksteady / ska heavyweights The Ethiopians. Originally founded in 1966 by Leonard Dillon, Stephen Taylor and Aston Morris (Morris left by the end of ā€˜66), The Ethiopians released a slew of 45’s for Studio One sub-label, Coxsone before their first album, Engine 54 debuted in 1968 on WIRL. Engine 54 brought the duo their first classic, "Train to Skaville" and while the album is more rocksteady than ska, the album packs consistent heat throughout. Featuring seductive harmonies, raw harmonizing, and killer falsettos, the duo were bringing together ā€˜60’s soul and Jamaican rhythms for maximum steadiness. Limited edition Music On Vinyl audiophile pressing, individually numbered & pressed on 180 gram orange colored wax.
