"Through the combination of Dave Pikeâs vibes and Volker Kriegelâs exploratory electric, acoustic guitar and sitar stylings, The Dave Pike Set was a visionary quartet with a unique identity and textural palette encompassing funk, psychedelia, avant-garde and Indo jazz grooves. Cut directly from analogue master tapes at Abbey Road Studios via an all analogue console, giving a wide dynamic range and warm open sound, the psychedelic sitar and big beat masterpiece âMatharâ has never sounded better.
