The Antlers: Hospice (Colored Vinyl) Vinyl LP
Hospice is the 3rd studio album from The Antlers, originally released in 2009. A concept record that details an abusive relationship between a hospice worker and a terminal bone cancer patient, frontman Peter Silberman experiments with tangled sonic textures, guitar feedback, & his androgynous voice to craft a chilly, stirring listen. Silberman has never revealed whether the "story" is inspired by real experiences, but the intimacy of the 10-tracker leaves a very convincing impression, and the way it progresses from one track to the next almost evokes the experience of sitting through a beautiful but emotionally taxing film. Check out "Kettering," "Wake," Silvia," "Atrophy," and "Bear."
