Scorching ska tunes from Studio One via Soul Jazz! Ya'll already know Soul Jazz are the masters of these genre-based comps (and have already proven themselves with several Studio One comps in the past) and here they tackle the first wave Jamaican ska sound from Sir Coxsonne Dodd's legendary label circa 1962 - 1965. This was the period of Jamaica's independence and the tunes contained here were the soundtrack to the times. Features classic cuts from many of the originators and innovators including The Skatalites, The Wailers, Lee Perry, plus numerous heavyweight rarities from the vaults. Double vinyl pressing in gatefold sleeve with full liner notes. Recommended.
