First studio album in almost two decades from iconic stoner rockers Sleep.Ā The SciencesĀ is a riff heavy effort from the stoner metal progenitors that more that reaffirms their legacy. Although both frontmanĀ Al CisnerosĀ and guitaristĀ Matt PikeĀ have forged separate paths with their own bands, they seem to be able to slip back in to Sleep with ease. There are tons of weed references along with a punishing amount of volume. Cisneros vocals are drone like chants while the guitars move like bubbling magma. DrummerĀ Jason Roeder, who joined the band in 2009, plays with a subtlety that serves to amplify the power of Sleep's music. Six tracks in all. Released byĀ Third Man RecordsĀ onĀ limited edition cassette for Cassette Store Day 2018.
