Originally released in 1983, the collaborative effort by Hiroshi Sato, Akira Inoue, and Masataka MatsutoyaĀ delivers mellow J-fusion undulations and island vibrations, that recently enjoyed an uptick in popularity thanks to Youtube algorithms and theĀ proliferation of vaporwave aesthetics (I would even go so far as toĀ call this theĀ OGĀ a e s t h e t i c). TheĀ entireĀ album takes smoothnessĀ toĀ a whole 'nother level (it feels like an audible vacation) with highlights including "Evening Shadows," "X's And O's," the neo-exotica vibes of "Lovers Paradise," and the uber-breezy "Melting Blue." Original copies are hard to come by even in Japan. This official 2022 importĀ comes on translucentĀ green vinyl with obi strip and a giant foldout poster. Recommended!
