Sdban: Funky Chimes - Belgian Grooves From The 70's Part 1 (180g) Vinyl 2LP
Who knew Belgium was so funky? Following the similarly potent Funky Chicken compilation,Ā Funky Chimes proves the nation known for waffles and beer also has even more hidden funk in the trunk than thought previously. This kind of music was pretty rare for Belgium in the 70's, but small groups of gifted musicians and composers still managed to create their own unique takes of afro-funk, latin, and soul. In the time of hit parades and variety orchestras, these kinds of songs were few and far between, but thankfully the Sdban label has done all the hard digging for you and put Belgium's funkiest nuggets all in one place. Check the killer sound from S.S.O. (Diamond D sample!), The Soul Scratchers, Francis Coppieters, Experience, Guido Carnagy, Electronic System III, and more. Top shelf stuff spread over two LPs with detailed liner notes in the gatefold. Recommended.
- black double vinyl pressing
- housed in gatefold sleeve w/ liner notes
