Scientist: Heavyweight Dub Champion Vinyl LP
Another in the string of rough albums that Scientist made for Greensleeves repressed by Russia's Dub Мир. This one is mostly Barrington Levy dubs from his big albums for Junjo ("Robin Hood") and Linval Thompson ("Poor Man Style"). As most people like, Scientist scatters some Barrington warbling, uses lots of echoes and rides the dub like nobody else. His mixing style is one of the freshest of all time and shines on songs like "Right Jab", and "Second Away" where he is just killing it with the basslines. Supposedly Scientist is still engineering somewhere in Maryland for rock bands? I wish somebody would throw him back in Tubbys with a 4 track. That's one of the craziest things: that all this dub from before 1982 was done on four tracks. Amazing shit. High quality vinyl pressing and sleeve printing.
