Emotional synths 4 ur basement! This shadowy outfit (whose previous releases Shinjuku One Night Stand and Shibuya One Night Stand leave us wondering where they’re headed next) releasing vintage rave-soaked bangers on their own eponymous label have become cop-on-site for their expert deployment of  “emotional synths,” “3 min solo pan flute” and “beach samples.” "A New Life (Planet Earth Mix)" does exactly what it says on the tin; 8+ minutes of slowly-assembled rave ecstacy incorporating subverted jungle breaks, an original 303 bassline (shout to R de M) and even Bob James' "Mardi Gras" break, pushed to the brink and finally opening up into pure euphoric hands-in-the-air bliss. “Reversed Skies” on the flip takes a slightly more modern approach; this time the “melancholic chords” are meticulously irrigated beneath a network of slippery, atonal acid textures fed through a space echo that just never ends, and sparse cowbell / pitched 808 sub riddim that leaves you to make up the rest as you go. Recommended; grip now or forever lurk ‘scogs.
