Funny things happen when you have famous friends. "No Shadow" was apparently born from the hands of none other Johnny Depp. He showed up at Ryan Adams' PaxAm studio with a riff and an idea. Adams wrote some lyrics and the two committed the song to 2" tape along with Marshal Vore on drums. The b side kicks off with the first collaboration between Adams and Depp, a rocking jam that features Depp on vocals. "Stoned Alone" finds Adams reminiscing about being stoned in the 7-11 parking lot across the street from his studio.
