Rather than building on and/or attempting to replicate the success of its debut, the Seattle set scaled back commercial efforts (like consciously deciding NOT to shoot music videos) and delivered an album with a looser, rawer and more aggressive sound. The strategy… or non-strategy worked, and Vs. went on to achieve much acclaim while giving fans big singles like “Go,” “Animal,” and “Daughter.”
