Oneohtrix Point Never: Garden of Delete Vinyl 2LP

Oneohtrix Point Never: Garden of Delete Vinyl 2LP

Seventh studio album from Oneohtrix Point Never (and his second for Warp). The experimental producer follows up 2013's R Plus Seven with the boundary-pushing Garden Of Delete. In 2014, Daniel Lopatin (aka Oneohtrix) was asked to go on tour and open for Nine Inch Nails with 30 minute "cyberdrone" sets. This experience was pivotal in the recording sessions for GOD (which were done in isolation in a windowless Brooklyn basement post-tour) as it brought out an aggressive and abrasive tone to his sound palette.  In addition to the cooled out, futuristic ambient vibes he's been exploring for years, Lopatin adds influence from metal, EDM, trance, alt rock, and industrial music on this latest effort. The result is certainly his most engaging and emotionally complex record to date. 12 tracks in gatefold sleeve, recommended.
