What can you say about Minor Threat that hasn't already been said?Ā The DC punk band, fronted by Ian MacKaye, launched the straight edge hardcore movement along with punk's DIY ethics.Ā Minor ThreatĀ collects the band's first two releases which include songs like "Straight Edge," "In My Eyes" and the first rendition of "Out Of Step." Although the band was only around for a few years in the early 80s they have had a huge and lasting impact on punk. Their songs continue to be covered and many of the band members are still active in the scene. MacKaye, along with the band's former drummer Jeff Nelson, founded Dischord Records which is still active today.
