Men I Trust: Oncle Jazz (Black Ice Colored Vinyl) Vinyl 2LP
âYour trial and error is error and errorâŠâ QuĂ©bĂ©cois trio Men I Trust finally release their long-awaited double album Oncle Jazz (oui, thatâs âuncle jazzâ en Francais), and it was worth the wait. Their self-titled debut album (more of a compilation, really) was just a little too inconsistent for me, but it seems theyâve found their footing and are now just cranking out bangers. Oncle Jazz has all the cuts weâve been rinsing digitally all summer long (âNumb,â âSay Can You Hear,â âI Hope To Be Around,â âShow Me How,â âTailwhipâ) and a grip of brand new *le joints* that are just as good. Thereâs 24 songs here for crying out loud! The older tracks have been newly re-recorded and frontwoman Emma Proulx's breathy cadence is just as hair-raising the second time around. Thatâs not even getting into the silver platter of funky slap basslines and atmospheric production this feast of songs are served on. Also check out âAir,â âPorcelain,â âPines,â âFound Me,â the wispy âSomething In Waterâ and slinky âNorton Commander.â This is the 'black ice' double vinyl edition, housed in glossy gatefold sleeve with full album lyrics. Recommended.
- 'black ice' colored double vinyl pressing
- note: vinyl appears black, semi-transparent when held up to light
- gatefold jacket
- music label:Â Return To Analog 2021
