Lake Street Dive: Bad Self Portraits Vinyl LP

"I bought this camera / To take pictures of my love / Now that he's gone / I don't have anybody to take pictures of." Bad Self Portraits is the 4th studio album from Boston's Lake Street Dive, and the band's jazzy, pop-tinged take on southern rock and r&b produces a bright, charming album. Originally released in 2014, the 11-tracker is driven by Rachel Price's vocals and the pleasant harmonies she creates w/ her band, and the singing is backed by a trumpet, vintage-sounding guitar riffs (Mike Olson), and smooth stand-up bass work courtesy of Bridget Kearney. Highlights include: "Stop Your Crying," "Better Than," "You Go Down Smooth," "Use Me Up," and the title track.
