La Roux: Trouble In Paradise Vinyl LP

La Roux: Trouble In Paradise Vinyl LP

La Roux returns with a hot and humid second full-length album, just in time to be your late-summer soundtrack. Floating into a laid back, disco atmosphere La Roux repeatedly reminds us what Pop music is suppose to sound like. The new album took a while to complete after losing her voice and her production partner, but the final product seems non-to worried about those bumps in the road. Standouts like “Tropical Chancer” immediately bring to mind the dubbed out disco of the Carly Simon’s much celebrated “Why”. Tracks like “Kiss And Not Tell”, “Cruel Sexuality” and “Uptight Downtown” all capture the lush, upbeat and percussion heavy feel that really sets this album off. Any one of the nine songs on this album could stand alone as a single, so prepare your body for the exotic tempos to carry you through your next trip to Fire Island.
