Kllo: Well Worn Vinyl LP

Kllo: Well Worn Vinyl LP

Chloe Kaul and Simon Lam are cousins, and after a chance performance together at a family function, they started making music as Kllo. Well Worn is the Australian duo’s second EP after 2014’s Cusp, and it combines uk garage and bass rhythms w/ catchy pop sensibilities. Chopped up samples, dreamy chord stabs and Kaul’s melodic vocals glide over shuffling, syncopated drums on “Walls to Build” and “Bolide,” while “Sense” and “Don’t Be the One” employ a slower, moodier composition. “On My Name” is also good, a chilled out electro-acoustic number consisting of somber keys and low-end wobble.
