It features a mix of musicians from three different sessions recorded March and May of 1956. Notable appearances abound from bassists Paul Chambers and Oscar Pettiford to pianist Tommy Flanagan. The legendary percussionist Candido makes an appearance on the opening song, "Get Happy." The playing is smooth and vocal, showcasing Burrell's ease on the guitar.
