Hot Casa has had a hand in reissuing some of the best African soul, funk and disco. Their Ivory Coast Soul compilation series brought to light some incredible Afro funk and soul tracks. Ivory Coast Soul Edits offers up 5 of those tracks, all recorded in the 70s in Abidjan, in edited form. DJ Vas, The Reflex, Mop Mop, Alma Negra, and Umoja all get busy with the tunes, tuning them up for maximum effect on the dancefloor. Peep the Afro disco vibes on Jimmy Hyacinthe's "Yatchiminou" or the folk rhythms of François Lougah's "Bravo Sotra." All the tracks are properly mixed and eq'ed so they'll sound good where ever you play them. Recommended.
