First catching buzz in the indie rock scene in 2014, the Madrid lo-fi/garage rockers Hinds (formerly known as Deers, name change was due to legal reasons) releases its first official album, Leave Me Alone, on Mom + Pop. The youthful, lively quartet injects that very energy into the 12 “perfectly imperfect and charmingly lo-fi” numbers on the album, which is lead off by the no-frills single “Garden” and includes equally jovial and pop-leaning tracks like “Fat Calmed Kiddos,” “Warts,” “Castigates En El Granero,” “Chill Town,” and “Bamboo.” A very refreshing and exciting listen from start to finish!
