Official, fully-licensed re-issue of debut "out"-ing from French bass player. Henri Texier has made some superb albumsĀ (and collaborations) over the course of his epic career, but none are quite like his exceptional debut, Amir, originally released in 1976 and out of print since 1979. Texier blends elements of jazz with folk, traditional French music, hypnotic raga jazz and some seriously blissful, hazy vocals to create an album that is equal parts atmospheric and experimental. Songs like the title track "Amir" and "Le Piroguier" are certifiable classics, appreciated by DJs as much as jazz heads.
