Group Home: Livin' Proof Vinyl 2LP

If you are any sort of hip-hop DJ, fan or poseur, you should own this record. Some of DJ Premier's best beats anchor Lil' Dap & Melachi's gritty NYC street verses, with too many classic lines to mention here. "Gettin' super fat dough, like Pablo Escobar" is a personal favorite of mine. "Supa Star" was the closest Group Home ever came to having a certified hit – it was a huge New York club record when it first came out, and it still rocks crowds to this day. The epitome of classic mid-90's hardcore hip-hop, and one of the records that made me want to become a DJ.

  • debut full-length from Lil' Dap + Melachi, produced by DJ Premier
  • blackĀ double vinyl pressing
  • original release year: 1995
  • music label: Get On Down 2017
