Freddie McKay: Another Weekend (Indie Exclusive Colored Vinyl) Vinyl 12"
Crucial repress of highly-collectable Greensleeves 12ā inna import style! Two tunes on separate riddims produced by the great Linval Thompson, backed by the Roots Radics and mixed by Scientist. A side finds 70s Studio One vet Freddie McKayĀ laying down his minted rocksteady croon in a cool, rub-a-dub dancehall style with āAnother Weekend.ā The hook is eerily similar to Ariel Pinkās tune of the same name (might even be in the same key??); first DJ to mix āem up gets free Lab stickers. Flip sideās got Earl Sixteenās āLive Together,ā straight-up stripped-down dubwise late nite coolness. As per usual, both tunes are stretched out the entire length of the side with dub versions on the back end, so itās basically 4 tracks on one plate. This was a coveted Euro-only RSD release, and the original pressing is currently trading for more than a c-note, so grip it while you can. Recommended.
