Extensive Bronx Punk Funkers compilation. At a time when Punk, Funk, and Hip Hop were at a creative apex, New York (especially the Bronx) was on fire. Unknowingly the three sisters from uptown, Emerald, Sapphire, and Gold, played a unique brand of Funk that sparked the interests of everyone in the downtown scene and soon were amongst the other weirdos that ran rampant throughout the city. This compilation originally released for Record Store Day UK 2014 is just shy of a complete discography box set, but still collects nearly every song they recorded and sure collects THE songs you need. Focusing mostly on the original albums and only cherry picking from their two Soul Jazz Records of the early 2000s, this is mostly 101 but goes the extra mile. Recommended!
