Uninterrupted instrumental soundtrack to Benedikt Erlingsson's documentary, The Show of Shows. Two thirds of Iceland's Sigur Ros, bass player Georg Holm and drummer Orri Pall Dyrason, teamed up with Icelandic composer Hilmar Orn Hilmarsson and Sigur Ros touring guitarist, Kjartan Holmalong (who's Georg's brother) to craft Circe. The music is inspired by the 100 years of archive footage of vaudeville, circuses and carnivals that Erlingsson's documentary draws from. It's a pulsating, ambient wash that is at times haunting and nostalgic. Recorded at Sigur Ros's new studio space in Reykjavik, the album features contributions from the celebrated South Iceland Chamber Choir. Double vinyl pressing on Sigur Ros's Krunk imprint.
