Every Open Eye was recorded in a basement flat that producer Iain Cook had converted into a studio with the band's advance for the album. The band wrote and recorded everything together, refusing outside offers to contribute to the album. They've further refined their sound, crafting songs that embrace their poppier side rather than going in for prolonged instrumental excursions. There are plenty of peaks throughout the record, from the "Just Can't Get Enough" vibes of "Clearest Blue," to the low slung beats of "Never Ending Circles."
