Bossa Nova... out of Argentina? That's exactly what came to be on Candeias sole full length from 1976. As the story goes, Argentinian multi-instrumentalist Guillermo Reuter was invited by French producer Jaques Subileau to the Buenos Aires-based studio Sound Center to write an album. Sambaiana was the resulting album, a lost fusion masterpiece that blends "Brazilian Jazz & Pop and some elements of Classical music and Latin rhythm," recorded with Uruguayan drummer and percussionist Carlos Carli, Brazilian bassist Darci Soave, flute player RubĂ©n Izarrualde, and guitarist Agustin Pereyra Lucena. Strangely, the album was only available pressed in Spain and France in tiny numbers, so this 2017 pressing from Notes On A Journey is more than welcome. Expect an easy going, carefree vibe to set your mind at ease.Â
