Candeias: Sambaiana Vinyl LP

Bossa Nova... out of Argentina?  That's exactly what came to be on Candeias sole full length from 1976. As the story goes, Argentinian multi-instrumentalist Guillermo Reuter was invited by French producer Jaques Subileau to the Buenos Aires-based studio Sound Center to write an album. Sambaiana was the resulting album, a lost fusion masterpiece that blends "Brazilian Jazz & Pop and some elements of Classical music and Latin rhythm," recorded with Uruguayan drummer and percussionist Carlos Carli, Brazilian bassist Darci Soave, flute player Rubén Izarrualde, and guitarist Agustin Pereyra Lucena. Strangely, the album was only available pressed in Spain and France in tiny numbers, so this 2017 pressing from Notes On A Journey is more than welcome. Expect an easy going, carefree vibe to set your mind at ease.
