The final installmentĀ in Brian Eno's influentialĀ ambientĀ series.Ā Ā 1982's On Land found Eno expanding his sonic palette beyond tape loops and synthesizers to include a complex mix ofĀ several non-instruments - fromĀ field recordings, found sounds, chains, rocks, sticks, and even unused portions of previous albums' recording sessions. The resulting album is notably darker in mood to previous entries in the series, but still retains the "ambient"Ā feeling that Eno had established.
