BOOTS: Aquaria Vinyl LP

BOOTS: Aquaria Vinyl LP

Beyonce producer goes solo. Pulled from his bar tending gig in NY, Boots made a VERY quick name for himself on having produced a handful of tracks on Beyonce's surprise album 'Beyonce'. While this isn't made up of the Houston diva's over the top anthems, it is interesting to hear the artist venture out on his own. Rooted in Hip Hop but much more open to the indie pop world, Boots' music is dark and slightly melancholic ala The XX or any number of current hybrid pop acts but is much more gritty in production value, which could explain his connection with Run The Jewels. Good to see a major labels taking chances again.
