Good Things is the second full-length from Aloe Blacc. Co-written by the singer/MC/musician and the in-house production team at Truth & Soul Records, the album captures the vintage sounds of late 60s and early 70s with Aloe's vocals offering commentary on the current state of things - joblessness, homelessness, misappropriation of wealth, etc. "I Need A Dollar" leads things off, with the piano-driven beat and thoughtful lyrics (who doesn't need a dollar these days?) setting the tone for the entire album. Other notable tracks include "Green Lights", "Take Me Back", "You Make Me Smile", and "Mama Hold My Hand," but really, every tune on here is a testament to Aloe Blacc's status as one of the leaders of modern soul. 2LP. Recommended.
